Two Souls

Remmal had found himself running through some alleys of Anduruna hoping to lose some unwanted classmates after accidently knocking one of them into the fountain at the market square. Long story short, he wasn’t looking where he was going.
“When we catch you, you are so dead!” he heard one of them shout behind him as he scrambled over a fence. “Move it guys, or we’ll lose him!”
Remmal made it over the fence and ran into a large crowd to lose his pursuers. He could imagine just how frustrated they would be when they got over that fence and lost sight of him. Remmal was a thirteen year old Dreamkeeper that looked like a ringtail cat. His fur was tan with maroon markings; his most distinctive feature though was his prosthetic left arm. He was often found wearing an old oversized Anduruna Shock Trooper coat, even during the hot summer months.
“That was cutting it close,” he said while checking his coat to see if it was torn He climbed up to a high point in the city to get his bearings and began to make his way back home. The coat was his father‘s and Remmal’s most prized possession, it was given to him as a gift from his designated guardian Kodam.
Kodam was in the same Shock Trooper unit as his father‘s and the two of them were best friends. Remmal’s father was killed in action before he was born. Kodam was in the same Shock Trooper unit as his father's and the two of them were best friends. Remmal’s father was killed in action before he was born and, according to his last request, Kodam took Remmal in after the boy's mother died. Kodam then retired from active duty to take better care of him. He was a bit over protective and had only recently let Remmal go out on his own. When Remmal finally arrived home to his small house in the Talocan district and stepped inside, he was greeted by Kodam.
just ran into some guys from school and took a small detour that’s all.”
“Were they some friends of yours?”
“No, just some acquaintances.”
“Well don’t dawdle next time, I want you to come straight home in the future,” Kodam stated.
Kodam, a large Grizzly bear missing an eye from his time in the Shock Troops, had changed from his uniform as Springer repairman for the Andurunain shock troopers to something more comfortable, worn jeans, white shirt and black vest, for a night of cards with his old Shock Troop friends.
Tonight though, Kodam and his old shock trooper unit came over and played cards and Remmal had to pick up some things at the market while Kodam got things ready at home.
“You worry about me too much”. Remmal stated
“He’s right you know. You do worry too much, you got the kid spread his wings,” said a familiar voice.
Remmal looked to where the voice came from to see one of Kodam’s old unit members.
“Dellran, I don’t need parenting tips from you. The only good tips you give is to that women at the bar down town!” Kodam responded.
“Whatever, the other guys are right behind me but Dregger will be a little late so were short a player till he shows up. You want to fill in for him until then Remmal?”
“Sure I don’t have anything better to do; I don’t have any much money though…”
“That’s fine! We can play with chips until Drenn gets here,” Dellran smiled.
Remmal‘s father’s old unit seemed to be the only people that actually seemed to treat him like a normal person. At the Social Center he was an outcast, no one ever wanted to be associated with him what so ever for some reason. As Remmal played, the time flew by as they laughed and joked. It was late by the time Dellran came and Remmal went up stairs. As far as Remmals life went, this was about as exciting as it got.  As he got ready for bed he began wishing that his life would be more exiting.
“Oh it will be soon enough,” an ominous voice murmured.
Remmal didn’t recognize the voice and looked around to see who the owner of it was. There wasn’t any one around though and figured he was hearing things. He didn’t give it another thought and went to sleep.

When Remmal awoke as the rising sun’s beams began peeking through his window. He had trouble sleeping last night, some crazy dream he had. He didn’t have time to sleep any longer though, he had to get up and go to school. He got his clothes on along with his prosthetic left arm and made his way out the front door and began to make his way to the Social Center.
“Another beautiful day wasted in that horrid place…” he sighed as he walked.
After a long day of classes and staying out of sight, the school day was finally over. Now all he had to do was get home without being spotted by his pursuers from yesterday. They probably hadn’t forgotten what happened yet. The weather began to turn sour as clouds began to roll in. He didn’t want to take long either and get caught in the down pour. Remmal started to peer around a corner when he heard someone behind him. He turned around to see his pursuers from yesterday.
“Well well, we have been looking for you all day! We were beginning to think you were trying to avoid us!” one of them sneered.
Remmal immediately turned to run but his unfriendly peers but grabbed him by the collar of his coat.
“Where are you off to in such a hurry?” one of the others oozed. “We just want to talk to you.” They dragged Remmal to a secluded alley where they threw him against a wall.
“You didn’t think we would have forgotten about yesterday, did you?” the leader of the group began.
Remmal had a good guess for what was going to happen next.
“Not only did you make me look like a fool, in the process you managed to wreck my data scroll!” he ranted. “I hope you got the lucre to replace it.”
“I would be happy to do that, but I don’t have the lucre at the moment to replace your data scroll. You think you can wait a while for it?” Remmal sputtered.
“Well then, I’m going to need some entertainment while I wait for that money.”
The three bullies then began to crack their knuckles; Remmal figured things would end up this way. He began looking for a way to escape; the only means of escape that he could see was blocked by the bullies. Remmal put up his fists showing that he wasn’t going to take this lying down.
“Good” the leader of the responded. “This will at least be somewhat entertaining.”
Thankfully, one of the guys in his dad’s old unit taught him some moves when Kodam wasn’t around; it was time to see if they worked. The leader took a swing at Remmal and managed to dodge it; Remmal then reacted by grabbing his attackers arm and threw him using his attacker’s own momentum into some garbage bins. Remmal was surprised that it actually worked, so were the bullies. In that moment the other two grabbed him and pinned him to the ground. Remmal struggled to get free but couldn’t under both his attacker‘s weight.
“You really shouldn’t have done that,” Said guy he just threw, who was now getting back up. As it began to rain, the leader then proceeded to beat up Remmal. After a while, Remmal soon began to black out, and all the while wishing he wasn’t such a weakling and that things were different, that this had never happened. Then before passing out he heard that ominous voice from the previous night.
“Your wish is granted,” it oozed. He felt an intense pain where his left arm met with his prosthetic arm and he passed out with the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance.

Part one end
I thought I would put my thoughts on paper on day. I showed it to my friends and they liked it. I thought I would post it to see how well it would do, so I would appreciate some feed back in the comments. If it does well I will post more. I also want to give credit to my proof reader, she is awesome for taking time out of her day and proof reading this.

Oh and DreamKeepers property of David Lillie.

Sorry I wasn't here to help you get the story up. But, I would like to say that the story is pretty well done. :)

And like Blizzard said, if you're holding out on us for feedback, don't. Give us the whole ice cream carton, not a single scoop. I've been an amateur fanfic writer on the net for over two years now, but when it comes to writing and not expecting user feedback, I'm a hardened veteran.

Again, great story you have here. Keep it coming if you have more.
